About Labour Welfare Board
Goa Labour Welfare Board (GLWB) is an autonomous body, governed by The Goa, Daman & Diu Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1986, and was established in the year 1990.
The objective of the board is to provide financial assistance to the industrial workers and their dependents ensuring the welfare benefits contemplated under different statutes reach out to all the industrial workers.
Process for contribution under Goa Labour Welfare Board:
The Board derives its funds from the employee’s & employer’s contribution and Government contribution. The current rate of contribution is Rs.10/-, Rs. 30/- & Rs. 20/- respectively. The Government contribution is exclusively utilized for The Retrenched Workers Assistance Scheme.
The employers are required to submit their half yearly contribution to the Board, for the period from January to June by 31st July and for the period July to December by 31st January.
